Preparation for the protocol

Preparation for the IVF protocol mainly consists of tests and examinations that you and your spouse will have to undergo. Today we will tell you more about them.

Tests for a woman (the validity period of each test is specified in parentheses):

• general blood test (10 days)
• common urine test (10 days)
• biochemical blood test (10 days)
• blood test for sex hormones - LH, FSH, AMH, prolactin, progesterone (1 year)
• blood test for thyroid hormones - TSH, TPOAb, T4 free (1 year)
• tests for STDs - chlamydia, mycoplasma, trichomonas (1 year)
• blood test for HIV infection (6 months)
• syphilis blood test (1 month)
• blood test for hepatitis B and C (3 month)
• blood type and Rh factor test (1 year)
• coagulogram (10 days)
• smear test (1 year)
• smear on the flora (1 month)
• colposcopy (1 year)
• ultrasound of the pelvic organs (1 year)
• breast ultrasonography (1 year)
• mammography (after 40 years) (1 year)
• fluorography (1 year)
• electrocardiogram (1 year)
• consultation with the therapist (1 year).

Tests for a man (the validity period of each test is specified in parentheses):

• spermogram (6 months)
• blood type and Rh factor test (1 year)
• tests for STDs - chlamydia, mycoplasma, trichomonas (1 year)
• blood test for HIV infection (6 months)
• syphilis blood test (1 month)
• blood test for hepatitis B and C (3 months)
• urethral smear (1 month).

Important: this list contains only the main tests and examinations that are necessary before the IVF protocol. Depending on your age, health status and medical history, the fertility specialist may prescribe additional examinations and, if necessary, consultations with profile specialists.
